Match report The first game of the league campaign proved to be an entertaining mornings' cricket for the crowd. Buscot were put into bat and Jeremy and Will again got the team of to a good start with a partnership of 47 before Will was bowled having scored 14. Jeremy continued his early season form and retired on 31,Liam finished on 11 not out while Matt Little on his debut hit three 4's in scoring 12.The only minor complaint from the manager was the fact that there were 90 dot balls! (ok 80 as there were 10 byes and leg byes )perhaps we will work on calling and running singles !
Opening bowlers George Liddiard and Jonny Carter tied down the Challow openers with some accurate off side bowling and both got a wicket each . J.Smith , the Challow skipper (and grandson of former Buscot bowling great Maurice Smith )kept his team in the game before having to retire on 30.Our spinners Jordan and Kalum(bowling spin this week)then bowled out the middle order , Jordan with 4 and Kalum 2.Buscot looked to have the game won , needing 1 wicket to win with Challow needing 22 to win, the Challow umpire then decided to withdraw Kalum from the attack due to bowling 3 no balls ! Reid for Challow looked to be dragging his team to victory but Will held his nerve to bowl the Challow number 11.
