BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB 2nd ELEVEN v HEYTESBURY & SUTTON VENY 2 on Sat 27 Jul 2013 at 2.00
BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Won by 7 wickets (target reduced to 82 off 27 overs)

Match report A second successive Saturday playing against the top of the division after beating Lacock last week and now at home to Heytesbury & Sutton Veny. Only one change from last weeks team so looking to win again but the weather forecast was heavy rain later in the afternoon so a good chance of not being able to complete the game. Buscot won the toss and chose to bowl first. Heytesbury got off to a flier and were 25-0 after 4 overs but after another boundary Mike Heasman bowled their captain who scored a quick fire 26. This slowed the run rate but Heytesbury were still scoring at 4 an over until the 2nd wicket fell at 48 from 12 overs. Wickets started to fall regularly and after Mike and Will Townsend finished their 24 overs, the score was 75-6 with both taking 3 wickets each. John Slack came on to bowl and in his first 4 balls took 2 wickets. 76-8 so now looking to finish off their innings quickly with the weather in mind. Their 9th wicket pair had other ideas and put on 60 in 13 overs and starting to take the game away from Buscot. Andy Capper bowled 3 tidy overs at one end and Paul Farmer came on at the other end and fortunately the Heytesbury batsman went for a suicidal run against Herbie's throw and gave his wicket away. Next ball Andy Morbey stumped their number 11 so the final score was 136 all out. Still a good performance to bowl out Heytesbury for 136 as they do score a lot of runs but it was really 50 more than it could have been so some extra batting would be required to win the game. Herbie Townsend was out early with the score on 10 but Andy Morbey and Paul Farmer put on quick runs and had a partnership of 90 off 19 overs. Andy was out for 40 but we were now well above the run rate. Paul and son Liam batted a few balls in the pouring rain before it was time to run to the pavilion after 27 overs. We had scored 103 so as we had only required 82 from 27 overs the Heytesbury captain soon realised the rain would not be stopping so declared the game over and congratulated us on the win. Two wins in two weeks against the top teams and next week will be another tough game against 2nd place.
