BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Lost LOST BY 5 WICKETS

Match report Buscot aarived at Cherhill with only 10 players, 1 more than the 1st team were to have ! Losing the toss and being put into bat ,openers Andy Morbey and Herbie Townsend made steady progress until Herbie was out with the score on 49 after 16 overs.Tony Watts came in at 4 and scored 36 as we pushed the total to 122 after 35 overs. The last 10 overs saw 88 runs being scored with Andy Morbey reaching his 100 before getting run out, we ended up on 210 for 8,better than the top 3 teams had scored there.
We needed to bowl and field well with only 10 men although we managed to find another fielder as 9 year old Patrick Slack fielded at fine leg both ends of the pitch.He showed true Slacky fielding potential with good use of the feet but also had a great throw.
Unfortunately we probably managed our worst fielding and bowling performance of the season as Cherhill passed the total in the 42nd over.We seemed to struggle to bowl and field tightly for a a long enough period ,definately a dissappointing result as it was a game we could have wom
