TO THE BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB WEBSITE
A message from John Morton
Dear all
In November I am going, with the charity Cricket without Boundaries, to Uganda for two weeks coaching cricket!!
CWB is a UK charity set up to encourage the spread and growth of cricket and to link the sport to AIDS awareness
I have to fund most of my own expenses, but, yes you’ve guessed it, I do have to raise some cash for the charity as well!!
However I am doing some things to help justify another request for your support of a ‘good cause’:
Sunday August 24th - a cricket match is being organised at Buscot Park C.C.
Two ‘friends & family’ teams will battle it out for the spoils and enjoy a superb cricket tea followed by
BBQ and drinks. All are welcome so please do come along - its guaranteed to be a sunny day!
(Please let me know if you can make it, as that will help to predict numbers for food and drink!)
Sunday September 28th – Cirencester 10k
I used to do several 10k runs in years gone by so I thought it would be fun to give one another go!!
Training going well, and already up to about 5k without too much trouble – no doubt it will get harder
Plus the hardest bit of all for me – loads of injections!!
Not good when it comes to jabs, so diphtheria / tetanus / polio / Hep A / Hep B / yellow fever / rabies etc.
plus malaria tablets is not a big attraction – must be worth some support just for me going through this!
So in summary, yes, I am after your generous support, but am prepared to do something to earn it
Cheques (made out to CWB) or cash will be gratefully received, as will on-line donations to http://www.justgiving.com/johnmorton
More CWB information is attached and is available at www.cricketwithoutboundaries.com
I’ll keep you posted with progress and do come down to Buscot on 24th August
If you need any further information, please give me a call
Many thanks
John
