BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Lost

Match report An encouraging start to the season, but unfortunately a loss by 20 runs!! Oxford Downs were put into bat by Captain Harry Stevens, and made 93 from their 20 overs, with their opening bat retiring on 30. Saul Garrett made an excellent debut for the club, taking 3 catches in the match. Toby Dibble also had a catch during his spell as wicket keeper. There was a wicket each for Jack Brown, Will Parsons, Craig Cook and Harry Stevens. Excellent spell of bowling for George Liddiard conceding just 9 runs from his 3 overs. Our downfall was extras, if you take the 8 wides and 11 no balls from the Downs score, you can see how close this game should have been!!

Harry Stevens and Luther Ward started the chase for runs by Buscot with Harry hitting runs from the outset. He retired on 30 from just 34 balls - keep it up Harry!! Luther Ward scored 9 as did Toby Dibble, but both were then bowled by the Downs spinner. Saul Garrett and George Liddiard were the not out Batsmen on 7 and 6 respectively.
