BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Won by 50 runs

Match report Didcot won the toss and put Buscot in to bat , skipper Harry Stevens was out in the 2nd over to a sharp slip catch, some rather loose shots from Jeremy and Will followed for a few overs before both settled down. Jeremy continued last seasons good form reaching 52 retired, Toby followed soon after for 0 , new signining Alex J-B hit his first runs for the club before Naimat joined Will for some big hitting , Will reached his half century whilst Naimat hit one too many aerial shots and was caught on 33.Liam hit 11 n.o on his debut while Johnny came in and protected his average ! Unfortunately Will James had to drop down the order due to illness. Buscot finished on 183 for 4 , surely enough to win the game.
Naimet opened the bowling and with his pace caused problems taking 1 wicket in his 3 overs, another debutant Jeffrey Slater opened from the other end and despite a nervous start picked up a wicket in his 2nd spell. Toby and Alex Disbrey picked up a wicket each .
Didcot finished on 133 for 4 with their skipper reaching 50. The game finished in the dark as 5.3 extra overs were bowled due to wides and no balls by both teams, think the umpires may have missed some as well !
A good start for the squad but as always plenty of things to work on, firstly moving quicker between overs and getting the ball back to the bowler faster so the spectators are not watching the game in the dark and cold !
