BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB 2nd ELEVEN v NORTH BRADLEY on Sat 24 May 2008 at 2.00pm
BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Lost by 43 runs
A good effort from the 2nds against one of the stronger teams we will face this season.Batting first North Bradley started comfortably despite Mike Heasman bowling 4 maidens at the start,at the half way stage they were 94 for 3 and with S.Eade batting well for 64 they reached 219 for 6 off their 45 overs.
Tight bowling from the North Bradley's openers restricted Buscot to 14 off the first 10 overs for the loss off 2 wickets but with Andy Morbey and Tony Watts gradually getting their eyes in the game started to change at 25 overs we were 69 for 2 ,at 35 overs we had pushed on to 156 leaving 64 to win off the last 10 overs.
Unfortunately the skipper got bowled for 64 and the collapse began ,Tony went a few overs later for 77 and we crawled to 176 for 9 off all our overs. A good and enjoyable match played in a good atmosphere with a Buscot team showing a good attitude and enthusiasm in the field.
star performer - Tony Watts 77 runs and 12-3-47-2
star fielder - Chris Morton , 2 good catches and ground fielding
classic moment- James Timber run out , calling a little rusty !
