BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB SUNDAY v BIBURY on Sun 08 Jun 2008 at 2.30 pm
BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Won by 139 runs
The skipper finally won a toss and despite pretending to look long and hard at the pitch, he was always going to make Bibury field through the hottest part of the day. John Dernie, playing his first innings for about 10 years we think, started slowly but proved a good foil for the in-form Ian Oglesby, scoring 42 in an opening partnership of 150. Only Nick Babcock missed out as Ian raced to an imperious ton, then Adam Sly and Hamish Millar weighed in with quick-fire 50s to post an imposing 266 for 2 in our 40 overs.
Run ragged in the hot sun, Bibury were never at the races and we duly gained some revenge for our thumping at their place last year by knocking them all over for 127 and winning by a mammoth 139 runs, with Mark Johnson, Nick Babcock and Simon Driver bagging a couple of wickets each.
