BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB News story

Club needs a new Welfare Officer

24 Jul 2015

Dear all

With grateful thanks to Kay Day for filling this role for the past couple of years we now need to find a new volunteer

I won't need to tell you that in the current world this role is hugely important to provide a “first point of contact” for everyone within the club and the ECB for child safeguarding matters and is essential for us to retain our Club Mark status

The attached document gives a fuller picture but a few key points are:

- best not to be a current 'high profile' member of the club
- willing to undergo some basic training on the Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop every 3 years
- to be first point of contact in child safeguarding issues
- to join the club committee
- presence at coaching sessions
- to maintain records
- experience of child safeguarding would be good but not a must
- must have an empathy with children

We DO need to fill this role, so please think seriously about it, your help and support will be much appreciated

Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss the role any further or you could also speak to Joe Dale the
Cricket Development Officer at Oxfordshire Cricket (07976 458047) if you wanted to discuss with someone outside the club

If you do decide to apply, please e-mail me your interest at the address below and we can take it from there

Many thanks

John
