BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB 2nd ELEVEN v WINSLEY 3 on Sat 12 Jun 2010 at
BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Lost by 29 runs
Match report
On a warm day down at the Park, there was an early start due to the World Cup, and the opponents, Winsley 3rds, won the toss and decided to bat first on the best wicket of the season so far.
The first wicket fell after an absolute peach of a catch at mid-off from Andy C off the bowling of Jonny, after some conservative batting and tight bowling, Will Townsend picked up 2 more wickets, to leave the visitors in some trouble at 52 for 3, but more steady batting and steady bowling, with the other wickets going to Slacky, Forthy and 2 for Capper, with the fielding being much improved with good catches and some beautiful diving stops from the likes of the Veteran Will Townsend, much to the delight of fellow Veteran, Slacky. Winsley posted a solid total of 185 for 7.
Like the week before Buscot yet again got off to a good start with the score 59 for 0 off 19 overs, with good scores from Paul Farmer-34 and Rich Gardiner-27, respectively, but then a mini collapse came which left Buscot chasing the game and the only other real resistane coming from Rob-29 and a career-high for Huw Lewis in only his 2nd game for the men, batted with the tail to get an extra batting point and finishing on an impressive cameo of 19 not out. Buscot were finally bowled out for 156 in the last over.
A good 7 points against the leaders who do look beatable, good performance lads.
