Match report The top of the table clash saw both teams weakened due to holidays but an entertaining and close game saw us come out on top,late withdrawals meant chasing players on saturday and sunday morning. Kamran Titcombe and Charlie Brown both stepped in at the last minute , without them we would have lost the game so the squad owe them a thank you.
We lost the toss and were put into bat,despite losing Liam early Jeremy and Will P moved the score onto 48 off 7,Will J batted well for 26 while Jeremy retired on 30.The score was 89 for 2 after 13 but a middle order collapse left us on 93 with 3 overs left and the last pair of Seb Allum and Kamran left but sensible batting and a few extras saw them put on an important 12 runs.
Tidy bowling from George and Will P at the start of the innings kept Charlbury to 21 off 6 ,Kalam and Alex continued the tight bowling without us picking up wickets. Charlbury needed 18 off the last 2 overs but firstly George and then Will J kept their nerve conceding only 9 runs and bowling no extras.
A great win and a good team performance, next week sees the visit of Oxford Downs which promises to be another tough game as the team look to make it to the finals day.
