Match report With 11 players available and an umpire on the warmest day of the season we made our shortest journey of the season looking forward to a win. Rob won the toss and decided to make use of Tristan King's pace by giving him the new ball. Runs were tight with both Tristan and Patrick Slack bowling tightly. Paul Farmer replaced Tristan and also bowled economically and picked up two wickets. John Slack at the other end took a wicket without conceding more than one an over. Tristan came back on to finish his spell but was unlucky not to take a wicket. Highworth had a brief period of scoring some quick runs but Matthew Hunt took 4 wickets to slow the scoring back down. John switched ends to wrap up the Highworth innings with two more wickets and Highworth were all out for 99. It wouldn't be easy to score the runs but the bowlers had done their job for now. The experienced opening partnership of Herbie Townsend and Andy Morbey were both out early so at 15-2 the result could go either way. No need to worry though as Charlie Morgan and Paul Farmer batted through to both be not out and give Buscot a win by 8 wickets. Charlie scored his top score (36no) in senior cricket and Paul finished 49no. An early finish so some made the journey to Buscot to see the 1sts clinch a win and back to the Red Lion to celebrate a rare double win of the season.
