BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB 2nd ELEVEN v WINSLEY 3rds on Sat 04 Jun 2016 at 13.00

Match report Jason Court's score of 42 is his highest in league cricket for the 2's beating his previous highest score of 33. Jason was looking good for his maiden 2nd XI fifty (Jason has scored a league fifty for the 1st XI in 2015) but with runs hard to come by and Rob and Jason starting to look for more singles, an optimistic call (dodgy call) by Rob, some hesitation by both and some quick fielding and good throw left Jason yards out.
Highest partnership of the season so far - Rob Morbey and Jason Court, 97 for 2nd wicket (record for 2nd wicket at home is 180un by Andy Morbey and Louis Bouwers against All Cannings in 2009).
Rob Morbey scored his first 2nd XI fifty since 2009 (Rob's last league fifty was for the 1st XI in 2014).
Highest score of the season so far, 58 by Rob Morbey.
Buscot Park were looking on course to reach 175 but we then lost 5 wickets for 2 runs in the space of 9 balls which included a hattrick spread over 2 overs by their 12 year old bowler Stuart MacDougall. The innings stalled towards the end with only 5 runs scored in the last 5 overs.
Matthew Lawrence's 2-33 is his best 2nd team league bowling figures beating his previous best of 1-1.
Tom Lawrence's 1-19 is his best 2nd team league bowling figures beating his previous best of 1-22.
The 2nd XI's youngest ever opening bowling partnership with Josh Court and Matthew Lawrence both bowling well giving us a good start and with some accurate bowling in the middle overs by Paul Farmer, Tom Lawrence and Richard Gardiner meant we were always in the game right to the end.
With 26 runs off 3 overs required, 18 off 2 and then 10 off last over, Buscot were looking favourites but some good hitting towards the end ensured victory for Winsley with 1 ball remaining.
An evenly matched teams for batting and bowling and even though Buscot fielded so much better than the previous week, Winsley produced one of the best fielding displays seen by the opposition in a long while and saved so many runs with catches, diving stops, walking in to save singles and good throwing.
2nd's all time league record against Winsley is now Played 18, Won 8, Lost 10.
Paul Farmer's next game for the 2's will be his 100th 2nd XI league appearance.
