Andy Croft scored 44 on his 2nd XI batting debut. Unfortunately a calf injury resulting from a quick single left Andy collapsed half way down the strip and run out when looking on course for his maiden fifty.

Andy's figures of 8-0-28-4 are now the best 2nd XI bowing figures in the CDCA beating 8-0-33-4 by Stuart Burchett away to Charlton in 2022.
Andy's figures of 4-28 are also now the best 2nd XI league bowling figures at home to Cricklade beating 4.3-1-17-3 by Brian Talbot in 1987. The best 2nds league bowling figures against Cricklade are 8-2-25-4 by Geoff Edgington away to Cricklade in 1987.

Chris Gay bowled 8 economical overs for 24 runs on his debut.
Chris also took his first catch in league cricket for the 2nds.

Daniel Gay sub-fielded for 40 overs (they had a sub fielder for 40 overs so we were also allowed) to replace the injured Andy Croft. Fortunately Daniel was available to play so came to watch which made all of the difference as fielding with only 10 players for 40 overs would have lost us far more runs in the field than the 3 runs we won by.

Andy Barron extended his league career for Buscot Park from 1981 to 2023 so now spans 43 seasons. This is the most of any Buscot Park player. Mike Heasman, Rob Morbey and Andy Morbey all have a 40 season span from 1984 to 2023.

This was the 2nds first league win since the same bank holiday weekend last year so breaks a sequence of 14 games (1 tied, 1 abandoned, 11 lost and 1 lost by forfeit) since last winning.

2nd's all time league record against Cricklade is now Played 7, Won 3, Lost 4.
