Match report The team had an early morning start to get to Tiddington in the knock out Plate Competition, some tight bowling from Kalam and Patrick Slack was not backed up by the fielding ! The opening bat punished the bad ball hitting 6 fours in his 31 retired, some tidy bowling from the other bowlers restricted runs off the bat but 30 extras helped the opposition reach89 for 3 of their 20 overs.
The Tiddington opening bowlers were the quickest seen this season by the Buscot batsman but Nick and Alex looked fairly comfortable until Alex played the wrong shot to a straight one, Nick went first ball to the 1st change bowler while Jordan played around a straight delivery and Reece inside edged on to the stumps leaving us 25 for 4.A few weeks ago we would have panicked but sensible batting and good running between the wickets from Alfie(30 retired ) and Kalam (17n.o )plus a few extras helped us stay ahead of the run rate , when Alfie retired Slacky junior came in and hit a couple of fours to help us to a 6 wicket win with 5 overs left.
Plus points were the running between the wickets and some good bowling . work to be done on ground fielding , cutting down the extras and shot selection at the start of the innings.
Extra work for Alfie and Kalam - no running straight down the middle of the wicket but well done on picking up the quick singles , twos and threes.
Challow & Childrey at home await the team in the quarter - finals.
