BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB 2nd ELEVEN v BIDDESTONE 3RDS on Sat 16 Aug 2008 at
BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Won by 42 runs

Match report Buscot pulled off their best result of the season by defeating leaders and probable champions Biddestone to gain some revenge from the earlier game in the season.
Biddestone won the toss and put us into bat, after losing a quick wicket Andy Morbey and Tony Watts had to defend against some good bowling ,with 10 overs gone we were 21 for 1 .The run rate gradually increased as the fielding side became quieter ! !, then the skipper felt his hamstring go and a runner was called. Both Morbey and Watts reached their 50 before the partnership(144) was broken on 147 in the 34th over,Tony was out next over and we then crawled to 178 for 9 off our 45 overs.
The total may not have seemed much considering they scored 400 in the away game but Mike Heasman bowled out the opener first ball, his next ball had a strong appeal for a stumping turned down ! fortunately the batsman did not go on to score 200 as Mike bowled him a few overs later. Mike took another 2 and Tony bowled one much to his enjoyment. Will Townsend picked up 4 wickets as Biddestone were bowled out for 136.
