BUSCOT PARK CRICKET CLUB Won by 4 wickets

Match report Buscot went into the last game of the season full of confidence after beating the top 2 teams in the previous 2 weeks, Buscot won the toss and decided to have a bowl. Mike Heasman yet again this season troubled the batsmen without getting any luck,the 8th over of his spell saw him bring up his 50th maiden of the league season.Tony Watts opened from the other end and took 2 wickets , the 2nd thanks to a great catch from Liam Farmer.Slacky then came on to bowl and took the wickets of Cherhill's number 4 and 5 , he took 2 more but could not get his 5th and finished on 4 for 48 off 12 overs. The remaining 4 bowlers were all 14 or younger with Ollie Parsons (2) ,Liam Farmer (1) and Louis Bouwers (1) taking the rest of the wickets.
The run chase was steady as Andy Morbey (26) , Tony Watts (28) , Rob Morbey (33)all got in but could not go onto make a fifty, it was left to 13 year old Nick Moody with a patient 27 not out and 14 year old Louis Bouwers (10 not out) to finish the job off.
Another excellent win for the 2nds to round off a season where we have competed in the majority of the games ,losing a couple which may have gone our way with a bit of luck and decisions going our way.just a pity the league then decided to take our points away from this game due to the inability of our 1st team players to make themself available for their game ! !
Just to say a thank you to all the players who have turned out for the 2nds this season especially those regulars who have only missed a few games, if we had more like that in the club it would make life so much easier for both teams.Well done to the junior players who have played in the team and shown great promise and enthusiasm , also to the older players who have shown some promise and enthusiasm ! !
